Red House
Music Academy

Red House Music Academy is a music school unlike any other. Some people call it a “School of Rock or Bach.” We think of it as a modern, inspired approach to plain old music lessons.

Our rehearsal space, faculty, rock school program, and student concerts have earned us an outstanding reputation since we opened in late 2009, and we continue to bring that same inspiration to our students today.

We ask that there is only one cancellation per semester, and that all lessons are attended within the semester.

Please give at least 24 hours notice, via email please, to cancel a lesson, or the lesson will be forfeited. Missed lessons are depending on the availability of the teacher.

Same day cancellations (less than 24hrs.) are forfeited, and not required to be made up.

There are no refunds on a semester payment.

Lesson fees are to be paid at the beginning of each semester or time slot may be forfeited.

Please email to cancel lessons: redhousemusicacademy@gmail.com.

Part of what has made Red House successful is having our staff motivate students with a weekly practice program and monthly goals. The Holiday Show and Summer Concert are also very effective motivators.

The amount of practice per week depends on the age and level of a student. Parents’ involvement is helpful in guiding students to find time in their schedule for practicing.

The most effective practicing at home happens in a distraction-free zone: free of siblings, television, computers, iPads, and phones.

When your kids have asked more than three times, it’s time to look into music lessons. We’ve had kids as young as three start voice lessons because they love to sing.

Beginner piano and appreciation for music lessons can be taught for a child as young as 4. Drum lessons can start as young as five if the child has the attention span for 30 minutes.

It depends on the maturity level of the student, and it’s always best to book a consultation.

Red House Music Academy is a 1500 sq ft facility with enough room for a rehearsal area. Students can form bands with friends or other Red House students of similar ages and abilities.

Bands rehearse weekly on Saturdays with a teacher mentor, learning how bands work together, covering classic songs or exploring songwriting.

Most Rock Band students have been playing their instrument for at least one year.

Many kids and adults record at Red House. Students interested in songwriting can record solo or as a band.

We schedule recording dates and prepare students for professional-quality demos. Dozens of records and demos have been recorded at Red House over the past six years.

Learning online can help some people, but most students learn best with a mix of visual, hands-on, and aural instruction.

Proper technique is best corrected in real time to avoid developing bad habits early.

We have many adult students. Learning an instrument isn’t just for kids.

Many adults say the hardest part was making the call. If you want to learn, we’re happy to help.
